Our doors come  in two grades. Original and made to order.

The Original doors 
Tend to be narrow in their proportions and can be hard to use as the timber could have warped over time. They are Excellent as character pieces for the inside of the house as pantry doors or as an internal decorative door that does not necessarily need to be closed.

Our made to order doors are made especially for the job.

They can be made double-sided where the pattern is on both sides or single sided as the original doors are where the back of the door is framed.
There is no limitation on the size except that the thickness of a double sided door is generally 45mm

The client is able to also specify the amount of worm in the doors. We generally ask for old wood but clean wood. This with the handwork used in making the doors gives them the character of an old door but the strength and squareness of a new door.

The finish is Wax which can be darkened if required. The reason we use wax is that it is more in keeping with the style and “agedness” plus when rewaxed a sense of character builds up in the door.  Using Danish Oil helps protect from our harsh weather conditions – we recommend 3 to 5 layers of this once the door is in place.

All Iron used in the doors is hand forged.
