*Solid wood furniture from L A Imports Ltd is made from a whole tree and is not a man-made product with a veneer on it. Openings and cracks are natural characteristics and are part of the product’s rustic and distressed nature. New and old cracks will move throughout the seasons and changes in weather.
We recommend the following –
Keeping a vase/bucket of water near solid wood side tables and pots.
Make sure they are not in direct sunlight.
Regularly oil or wax solid wood to keep the moisture in the wood, if it dries out more splitting can occur.
It is also not advisable to place Solid Wood directly onto carpet. Spacers should be placed on the underneath side of the solid wood so that air can pass between it and the carpet.

” Fillers are where the wood has been filled before finishing
” Variations in grain and finish
” Seasonal splits where the tree expanded and contracted as it grows.
